It would appear that certain Green Lanes in the Symondsbury/Chideock area are the subject of a closure notice dated 16 July 2009.
In particular:-
Hell Lane from Quarry Cross,
North Lane from Quarry Cross,
Shutes Lane from Quarry Cross,
Quarr Lane from Quarry Cross, Symondsbury/Chideock
20 July 2009 for 18 months There are no suitable alternative routes, access for residents & bona fida visitors available at all times.
Unsafe condition of roads Western Area Highways 01305 251000
It would appear after talking to the Police that the residents are plagued with 4×4′s. These unknown 4×4 people also removed the closure notices previously placed at the lane entrance. Hence I was cautioned by the Police by letter.

I have also sent an e-mail to the senior rights of way officer at County Hall seeking clarification of the ‘Definitive Map’. Unfortunately it is not available online.
