MSA recognised club Association of Land Rover clubs
Oct 222016

Update: The date is Wednesday 22nd February @ The Olive Branch, Wimborne.

Our new Social Secretary Milly Webster is planning on organizing a dinner for us few and far between female members of the club to get together and wine and dine ourselves.

The event is open to wives, sisters, mothers, any ladies who have thought about joining the club but for some reason haven’t yet! Come along and get to know us! We’re friendly I promise!

If you can note your name below to give her an idea of numbers and where people are coming from before a location is chosen.

FROM:  Nigel Moore, Acting Chairman, DLRC

For information, members may have noticed that the club’s Facebook page has been suspended. This follows various problems that have been brought to the attention of the Committee. Following lengthy discussion and a full examination of all pertinent facts, it is emphasised that the Committee is entirely satisfied that no individual club member has at any time been blocked on the club’s Facebook site, but rather that to protect the club’s reputation a watch-list was instituted whereby the use of certain words within posts would result in that post not appearing. The Committee unanimously supported the decision to suspend the Facebook page until further notice.

This decision was taken in the light of a Committee decision made on the 24th July to recommend that a new paragraph be added to the club rules as follows:

Any member of the club placing defamatory comments, or comments likely to bring the club into disrepute, on the club website or any social media could render themselves liable to expulsion from the club if such comments are deemed to be unacceptable to the committee.

[For information, under the Articles of Association A14b and as stated in the club rules – Management, Para 1, the Committee is empowered to introduce new rules in furtherance of the objects for which the club is established.]

It is my intention to ramp up the clubs greenlaning activities over the coming months so as your clubs Greenlanes Officer I have taken the liberty of pre confirming dates to allow these trips to take place up to the first week of October. These dates are:

14 & 28 June (28 is Greenlanes Day)

12 & 26 July

9 & 23 August (31 is Greenlane Treasure Hunt)

6 & 20 September

4 October

These trips are taking place on Saturdays and are obviously subject to weather and ground conditions on the day which will determine where we go.

Maximum six vehicles including myself unless somebody else is willing to take a second group, it would be extremely nice to be able to welcome some new faces into the fold and show them why we love what we do and we ‘do it right’.

Please register your interest on this thread and for what date(s) as well as sending me an email to

It’s time to get things rolling!
